THE DIGIVANGELIST

Apple Photo Booth Fun
mini-PAH:BREMEN happened on my son's birthday. You will be able to vote on their cell phone art at www.pahfest.com very soon. So stay tuned.

Mobil Phones,

Tired of paying for expensive cell phone calls? A new technology
that is being put in phones allows you to access hot spots and use
your phone for free or really cheep. Companies like Vonage and Skype
are taking advantage of this. Vonage phones with this wi-fi
technology are about 90 bucks and 15 dollars a month for 500
minutes. You do however have to worry about weak signals that my
drop your call and or getting shot by whoever your stealing wireless
from.

Last month a Fox newsman did a live report using his Treo smart
phone. With major advances in mobile phone video there may never be
the need for expensive satellite trucks. The software that runs on
the Treo is CometVision, and it is able to transmit video over non3-G
networks using a small amount of bandwidth.

This music has been a big help to me through the years. It helps me to be still. I also love Mr. Ortega's tone. I thought it was appropriate to share his music before Thanksgiving. It's our Native American friends that taught us to be thankful for what we are and what the world gives us. I also like Mr. Ortega's storytelling practices. Check out his webpage wisdomtree.

THE DIGIVANGELIST

Apple Photo Booth fun.

Well, the big news is that CRC is now up on the On The Lot web page. I really had to think long and hard about doing it. I asked my many consiglieres if I should. The submission process doesn't exclude so-called professional filmmakers. The more I thought about it how could I be a very good Digivangelist without putting myself out there on the front lines so to speak. On The Lot is an idea that is spawned out of the new digital arena. I need to see how it works for my own alternative distribution ideas. The best way to do that is to participate.

ON MY DESK FROM THE DIGIVANGELIST TEAM

A lot of people in the major music industry are complaining about
copyright violations and peer to peer file sharing but with dedicated
"music video" channels playing nothing but reality shows about
musicians, where is the music? Independent artists are now embracing
p2p sharing because it is a more effective way to bring attention to
your band. With digital technology being as affordable as it is a
band can professionally shoot a video for less than 10K and use
BitTorrent as a distribution tool. With BitTorrent you have a high
quality video unlike the thumbnail sized video you see on MTV.com.

In 2007, 8 airline companies plan to have ipod docks in the back of
the seats with connections to the seat back video monitors so you can
watch your videos.

Helio Drift

An exclusive Samsung Device, this phone has GPS technology and when
you turn your buddy beacon on your position is transmitted to your
buddies and displayed on a map. If all of your friends have this
phone, you know exactly where everyone is. The GPS will also look up
traffic jams, give you directions, and keep you from getting lost.

Composer, Jim Fox.

Jim was also a student of Dr. Barney Childs albeit an advanced one. He taught electronic music at the University of Redlands and I took his class. He ended up establishing the well-respected Cold Blue records to showcase experimental composers. He also scored four of my movies. I am a big admirer of Jim's music...it's clear, true to his voice and strikes right to the heart. Take a moment, unplug yourself and just listen.

Apple Photo Booth Fun: building on the mindspace.

It's all about PAH today. We are gearing up for an Elko, Nevada PAH-FEST to be held at the end of January during the famous Cowboy Poetry Gathering. The concept of 10,000 cowboy poets having the ability of creating visual cell phone poems and sharing them with the world has my aura radiating today. I also received an e-mail from Bremen, Germany this morning. That's the great town that gave us the Thieves of Bremen. You know, the Mule, the Dog, the Cat and the Rooster standing on each others back looking through the window and bravely saving the town from the thieves. Way to go animals! One of my childhood favorites. Well, they're doing a special underground arts/new media festival to be held at bars, plazas, galleries, coffee houses, beer houses, etc through out the town. They want German PAH to be part of it. PAH knows our brothers and sisters of Bremen know the importance of the creative process; they want to share their personal stories, their art from the heart. PAH is proud to be part of this event as well.

SUNDAY WISDOM

What you are is what you deicde to be.

--Bailey saw this graffitti wisdom on Melrose Blvd. It was coming out of a cartoon image of Einstein. He thought I should know.

The dreamers are the saviours of the world. Humanity cannot forget its dreamers; it cannot let their ideals fade and die. Composer, sculpture, painter, poet, prophet, sage these are the makers of the afterworld, the architects of heaven. The world is beautiful because they have lived; without them labouring humanity would perish. He who cherishes a beautiful vision, a lofty ideal in his heart, will one day realize it. Columbus cherished a vision of another world and he discovered it; Copernicus fostered the vision of the multiplicity of worlds and a wider universe and he revealed; Buddha beheld the vision of a spiritual world of beauty and peace and he entered into it. Cherish your visions; cherish your ideals; cherish the music that stirs in your heart. If you remain true to them your world will at last be built.

--Adrienne read this to me this morning to give me encouragement. It's from James Allen's As A Man Thinketh. She felt I should hear it.

Thanks little family for being there for me.

Apple Photo Booth Fun.

I am always looking for new avenues of distribution, new strategic alliances and new ways to promote and share one's creative vision with others. The DigiVangelist team has found some fresh giz's & gad's for this week.

SLING MEDIA

If you love TV, the Sling Media Slingbox is like TiVo but more versatile. It will record shows or you can watch streaming video (whatever is on your tv), and you can watch from your laptop, desktop, PDA, or smart phone. You can watch whatever cable package you have, so if you're in Grants and the hotel doesn't have your MLB package but they have high speed internet; BAM game time. They are also looking into original content. I took a meeting with them regarding a PAH channel. Content is king. Let's see what happens. SLINGMEDA

THE LOST ART OF READING

Old School and New School meet at yet another crossroads. It is the size of a paperback and you download just like you would with your itunes onto your ipod. It holds hundreds of books. The pages scroll with a touch sensitive pad, and it's not just a book you can download blogs, news feeds, jpeg's, and MP3's.
LEARNING CENTER

DELICIOUS LIBRARY

A virtual library of all your music, movies, books, and more. You scan your bar code in with your isight webcam, or type it in and the software connects to amazon and downloads the artwork and information. It then puts the artwork on a virtual bookshelf. The best function is that if you loan out a movie you drag the icon onto your friend's name and it connects to a calendar and tells you when it is due back. DELICIOUS LIBRARY

This is what I just submitted to On The Lot. You can go to www.onthelot.com to root for me if it is accepted and/or submit something yourself.

CHANGES/COMING SOON

I'm still trying to find the right stucture for my EARS blog. I want it to fit better with everything thing that we are trying to accomplish at EARSXXI in terms of our projects and on-line presence. I'm going to get rid of MEMORIES and the STATE OF THINGS because I can tap into that during a Saturday morning audblog session. The idea I have now is to make Wednesday's CRC PRESENTS day and Friday's BIKER CHEF day. CRC PRESENTS will be a weekly unveiling of short, music, art and poetry. This could help feed the on-line magazine and promote PAH. BIKER CHEF will be little serial episodes of Biker Chef and Biker Cat on the culinary road. T his will help our soon-to-be launched on-line store where you can buy Biker Chef's food products. Also, I am working on the next podcast with special guest Tom Sebastian, so stay tuned.
