STURGIS DAY 2

I had strange feelings of forboding most of the day. I couldn't wait to get to Sturgis for my press conference and get it over with. The winds were up. I road very hard, exceeding 100 mph, before I came to my senses and slowed down. I informed the local press as to why Ars Nova XXI gave Mr. Costner's Tatanka a substantial donation. We want to encourage education in the digital arena which is why we're funding the Ars Nova XXI Hi-Def Lab at the San Francisco Art Instiute. But, what does this have to do with Native Americans and their history? Technology without wisdom is extremely dangerous. It can totally dehumanize us. Native American Medicine is ancient wisdom. In its most simplicist form it's about harmony with the Great Mother. Only take what you need and she will take care of you. Not an easy concept for the white man and his big business corporations. I know many Native American's believe the Internet is the Great Global Communicator and can be used as a powerful tool. In a time when the world is so polarized, balkanized, synthetic and filled with greed, it's precisely this kind of simple, timeless wisdom that we need. Ars Nova XXI wants not only to be at the forefront of the digital arena, but help spread the word of Native American wisdom. We want to push the digital revolution with a love of life, harmony between all peoples and cultures, and a deep respect for the Great Mother.
