Road Trip Day 11/BIG AL

I saw this large mobile trailer with "Big Al" painted all over it parked on the side of the road. Suddenly, the carny inside of me kicked in. I walked over to the trailer; it was actually a travelling water tank. I heard some thumping and swooshing inside, then a strange gurgling whistle. Was it "Big Al" beckoning me?

Road Trip Day 10

I've been out of commission having an internal conversation with my mountain.
ASC and BIC felt someone needed to keep the daily road trip updated.

Road Trip Day 9

There's been a lot internal change going on with EARSXXI, PlasterCITY and DFE. I certainly hope for the best. Sometimes you really need to shake things up to get one step closer. The most important aspect of what I do is to stay true to the BIG PICTURE, no matter the obstacles; however, one has to be able to earn the DOLLAR as well. This is where Elyse comes in. There's no reason why the two shouldn't go hand 'n hand. The big problem for me is TRUST. I've been knocked down, ripped off and criticized for being CRC for most of my life that I have developed a pretty hard shell when it comes to TRUST. And I am not saying this is a good thing, just that it comes with the territory in my line of business. One always has to look over their shoulder. And, the weight sometimes weakens the shoulders. Now having said this, I want you all to know I am still hopeful. I do feel I have the tools, the friends, and business partners to pull off the big PAH picture.

As we were leaving Elko on the 80, I was thinking about all of this. Then I noticed it...a billboard with a photo of the great Abraham Lincoln. It said, "Fail, fail, fail...and then...PERSISTANCE...pass it on". I took it as a good omen.

Road Trip Day 8/Elko "Gunfighter" Screening

We had a wonderful screening with a wonderful audience. Yet, I feel a tad sad. I think the land of the Cowboy Poet is making me yearn for the "Innocent Eye". Time stands still and one can take a deep, deep breath.

Road Trip Day 7

A day hunting for Mr. Pike at one of Northern Nevada's best kept secret lakes. I marinaded him in an orange ginger sauce, then barbecued him with blasts of mesquite dust on very hot coals. I did this in a Super 8 motel parking lot while listening to Caruso. It was a swell family dinner.

Road Trip Day 3

I love Fellini's La Strada...one of my all time Fellini favorites. When I hit the campaign trail with my little family, Biker Cat, Smokey Joe and Cutty in the famous "Big O" passing out Biker Chef pictures and promoting PAH, I feel like I am in a Fellini movie and I like it that way.

Road Trip Day 2

We went down the San Juan river with Ron and did a little wet fly fishing for the first time. Bailey learned the ever important lesson of PATIENCE. In this crazy, hectic cut throat world, it is such an important lesson. The lesson of GRACE is next on the human spirit menu.

ROAD TRIP DAY 1

I headed out of ABQ this early eve and ended up in the Four Corners area. I am taking a very long road trip back to LA via Utah, Northern Nevada and Northern California. The Northeastern Nevada Museum will be screening a low budget western I made 18 years ago in the Elko, Nevada area for all the cowboys that worked behind and in front of the camera. It will be on July 26th, 7 pm. I will be there to answer questions, etc. To all the great people of ELKO, LEE and JIGGS that helped me make this innocent little western, I look forward to hooking up with ya all at the Jiggs Bar for a prairie fire or a ditch water. Until then, happy trails.

OLDENBURG AND PAH

I've been asked to be an international film judge at the 2006 Oldenburg Film Festival this September in Germany. I agreed. Oldenburg will also be hosting a mini-pal PAH-FEST for our European friends that have stories to tell. It is my goal to create and link together a complete global on-line PAH-FEST with Grants, NM as the Capitol of PAH. Stay tuned.

I don't like formal gardens. I like wild nature. It's just the wilderness instinct in me, I guess.

A MESSAGE FROM ONE OF OUR ON-LINE FRIENDS

Mr. Aarne, the man behind the beautiful "I AM" poetic piece from last year's first truly big Duke City Shootout, sends his regards to PAH and all of us out here in Grants, NM. Mr. Aarne, just so you know, you are a major reason why I left Duke City Shootout. For the past seven years, I have supported and started a lot of programs for DFI. As the "Common Man" winner you gave me greater clarity. Now, I want to use all of my energies, ideas and contacts to empower "everyday people" through my PAH program. This is what I am about.

PAH-FEST DAY 1

The first day went very well. We have a wonderful, highly motivated group of people helping to launch our first PAH-FEST. I couldn't be happier. I will be vlogging the creative process throughout the festival to give you a little taste of what is happening out here in Grants. This will also help the mythical PAH decide who will be the recipient of the rather juicy Bugsy Kahn Award. Also, don't forget to check out www.pahfest.com to view and vote on all the digital meda being created during PAH-FEST 2006...this will help us decide who will get all the cash prizes.

Takakjian delivers the 3 G's

BUGSY KAHN IN ALL OF HIS GLITTERiNG, GUTSY GLORY. This award will go to the person who overcame the most roadblocks during PAH-FEST 2006 while trying to remain true to their vision. It is essentially an award for persistence and dedication.

Also , Mr. Paine just arrived with the EARSXXI "Keeping the Torch Lit" Award. It will remain sealed and hidden until the Rubicon Estate evening. This award goes to a master artist who, by being true to him or herself, inspires the rest of us to find our own inner voice and to tap into the artist within us all. After studying the life and art of the great George Kuchar, glass sculptor Rhys Williams and artist confidante Rando Schmook were hard at work melting glass in the hot fire. Like the artists, this award is unique and one of kind, but because the same talented artist team creates it , there is continuity. The one thing the award has in common for sure is its heaviness...an artist's life and the creative process is heavy indeed.

Maiden Voyage

I'm in Roswell, NM participating in the Alien Rally. Tonight, I rode with the Blood, Sweat & Gears bikers in Roswell's very own UFO parade. I love how the whole town came out and cheered even the littliest and shabbiest of UFO floats. I felt like I was in a magical Fellini film. Adrienne took some cell phone video with her new cell phone. Once she gets around to e-mailing them to me (reads the manual, etc.) I will post them. Today was also special because it was Smokey Joe's first training day on BC's iron horse. He watched Biker Cat who is always a total champ and class act, then it was his turn. He was also first rate. Must be the good breeding at Bear Country Burmese out of Newport Beach, California...Smokey Joe is a great addition to the Biker Chef posse.
