MEMORIES OF PRE-BC351 TRIP PT. 1

The gang is breaking up tomorrow. It's been a very successful trip. We found all our locations for the pilot in New Mexico. hooked up with wonderful characters and did some HD scenic motorcycle shots in South Dakota. I'm very thankful. I've always been blessed with great teams of hardworking, creative, ethical and solid people. Below are a few pictures of the characters we'll be filming when we do the main production in August and my crew roughing it South Dakota.

Homer-- the cowboy poet and champion chuckwagon cook.

Shirley Pino's wise Great Aunt-- she's the best Pueblo horno bread maker in New Mexico. She also has a great sense of humor. She felt like a kindred spirit.

Sous and BikerCHEF with horno.

Marty the Mauler (my brother-in-law), Gregory (my sous chef), Jason (my cousin) and Deanna (vice-president of Ars Nova XXI). They're waiting for dinner. Marty was contemplating the Donner party. They're all major assets to my team.

Otto, my brave cat. He travels everywhere with me. He's stalking prey.

Otto's prey- longhorn cattle. I told you he was brave.

FINALE OF DIGIFEST SOUTHWEST

Bravo to the festival, the city of Albuquerque, the state of New Mexico, and, most of all, Jim "Grubb" Graebner. They pulled it off again. Ars Nova XXI is proud to be a sponsor of this growing festival.

The directors from left to right: Dan Borengasser, Besty Burke, Nessa Hawkins, Ryil Adamson, Tim Costello, Scott Milder, C. Hawthorne Flaherty. Congratulations to them all for a job well done.

Grubb-- the Karl Marx of short films.

Friends, family and HD buffs came out to support their film festival. This is great, but there could be even more support. Come on, New Mexicans, be proud and support your Digifest SouthWEST. Ars Nova XXI of Chicago and Los Angeles does, so should you.

Peter "Scarecrow" Fisher and Nicolas Paine flanking the boss lady, Elyse Meredith. I don't know why but I can't get theme from "Ironside" out of my head.

SANCTUARY

After a celebratory night of many tequila shots, I desperately needed to find a sanctuary this morning. I found one. It was behind one of my favorite shops in Albuquerque, SAINTS & MARTYRS-- a very small, beautiful adobe chapel. I sat there amongst the candles wondering if I had to choose which would I be a Saint or a Martyr. I chose Martyr.

GET DOWN getting ready for the ride. Amongst his leather work you can really see his grace.

CRC, GET DOWN, SCARECROW before hitting the streets of Albuquerque which just had the dubious distinction of being the number one murder capitol of America. It's a tough town, but I like it.
